Becoming a Certified Aboriginal Financial Manager (CAFM)
How to become a CAFM › Admission through Special Arrangement Provisions
If they qualify, a member may apply for one of the following special arrangements for obtaining the Certified Aboriginal Financial Manager designation:
Special Arrangement A
For AFOA members with a Certified General Accountant, Certified Management Accountant, or Chartered Accountant professional accounting designation in good standing:
- meet the practical work experience requirements (2 years);
- submit a completed CAFM Application and remit the Application Processing Fee of $200 plus GST;
- sign an agreement to abide by the Standards of Ethical Conduct (included in CAFM Application); and;
- letters of reference from two sponsors
- If you are not already a member of AFOA Canada, submit a Membership Application form along with membership dues plus GST.
- Send in a completed CAFM Application and required documentation with the application processing fee of $200 plus GST.
- Include proof of your membership in good standing with the CICA, CGA or CMA.
- have the pre-requisite courses AFM 4 and AFM 14; [NEW REQUIREMENTS]
- submit a completed CAFM Application and remit the Application Processing Fee of $200 plus GST;
- sign an agreement to abide by the Standards of Ethical Conduct (included in CAFM Application);
- submit letters of reference from two sponsors;
- meet the CAFM Exam eligibility requirements; and;
- successfully pass the CAFM Professional Exam ($300 plus GST).
- If you are not already a member of AFOA Canada, submit a Membership Application form along with membership dues plus GST.
- Send in a completed CAFM Application and required documentation with the application processing fee of $200 plus GST.
- Await response for Exam Eligibility from AFOA Canada, then submit your Exam Registration and fee of $300 plus GST.
