2019 MEMBERSHIP RENEWAL NOTICE

As there was a mail strike that happened in late 2018 that may have affected the delivery of the 2019 AFOA Canada Membership Notices, this is a reminder that membership dues for 2019 are now due. If you have not received your membership notice, please contact our office toll free at (866) 722-AFOA (2362). 

You may now renew your membership online. Simply follow these steps:

1. Go to the AFOA Canada log in page . You can access this at anytime by visting www.afoa.ca and clicking the 'Member Log In' button.
2. Enter your username and password.
3. Click on the 'Log In' Button
4. Click on 'Renew'

If you are NOT a member and would like to become a member visit the Individual Memberships page or for more information, you may contact:

Update on the Current Status of the Joint Advisory Committee on Fiscal Relations

The Government of Canada is working with First Nations and has established an advisory committee and Technical Working Groups to provide guidance and recommendations on a new fiscal relationship. It is expected that this engagement process would result in refined options related to predictability, sufficiency, and mutual accountability.  AFOA Canada is pleased to provide you with an update on the current status of the Technical Working Groups in the form of a Management Brief as there will be changes to the Fiscal Relationship between the federal Government and First Nations communities across Canada, a funding mechanism that will be made available as early as April 1, 2019 to First Nations that provide a written request and that meet the eligibility requirements. Read the full Management Brief

New ILC Scholarships Available for CAPA & CAFM Online Courses

The Indigenous Learning Centre is now accepting applications for scholarships for CAPA and CAFM Online Winter Courses (February 4 to May 17.) The scholarships are intended to offset full registration costs for AFOA Canada courses and help qualified candidates who do not have the financial resources required to enroll in AFOA Canada courses. Please note, applicants do not have to an AFOA Canada member to apply for an ILC Professional Development Scholarship. For more information please visit the ILC Professional Development Scholarship Page.
