Virtual Indigenous Community Income Tax Clinics

Can you help? Calling on AFOA Canada’s Community of Professionals to help fellow community members meet the new Income Tax deadline of June 1, 2020 by volunteering at an AFOA Canada’s National Virtual Community Volunteer Income Tax Clinic!

Volunteers are needed across Canada to help at-need individuals in their own communities access benefits, credits and refunds, they may be entitled to, through the Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP).

Volunteer positions include:

  • Community Liaison – this person will promote the AFOA Canada National Virtual Tax Clinic in their community, recruit individuals who are in need of tax preparation assistance and coordinate teleconference calls with the tax filer and tax preparer
  • Mentor/Lead Tax Preparer – this person will be a resource and provide support to other volunteers
  • Tax Preparer – complete tax returns virtually for individuals following security guidelines from the Canada Revenue Agency
