Bio of Catherine Debassige, CAFM
Catherine holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from Laurentian University, a Certified Aboriginal Financial Manager (CAFM) designation from AFOA Canada and brings over 10 years of Indigenous commercial lending and management consulting experience to her current role at the First Nations Financial Management Board.
As a Capacity Development Manager, she provides direct guidance and financial capacity training to First Nations to implement their Financial Administration Law. She also supports clients prepare for Financial Management Systems certification from FMB. She enjoys being in communities to provide this support and capacity building.
Catherine has also attained a Diploma in Business Marketing, and a Certificate in International Trade.
For many years, she worked in Indigenous Economic Business Development and Entrepreneurship.
Catherine is a member of the M’Chigeeng First Nation on Manitoulin Island, and has three children currently attending post‐secondary education. Feel free to connect on LinkedIn.
