CAPA Program

AFOA Canada's newest designation is the Certified Aboriginal Professional Administrator (CAPA). The CAPA Program is specifically designed to enhance the knowledge and professional development of Senior Administrators and aspiring Senior Administrators working in Aboriginal communities and organizations on-reserve, off-reserve and in remote, rural, and urban settings. Through this program, Administrators will learn how to significantly enhance their workplace performance and successfully fulfill their mandates to provide optimal service to meet the needs of their communities and organizations.

Professional Development

This course will provide an opportunity for participants to learn how the enabling tools may be used to strengthen the financial administration and economic development capacities of First Nation communities who choose to participate under the legislation.

The FNFMA is legislation that was passed in 2005 and established fiscal institutions designed to provide First Nation band governments with the practical tools available to other governments for modern fiscal management.
